Sunghee’s fists began to shake in anger. The CEO’s son? That outcast jerk who toyed with her is the CEO’s son? She couldn’t believe it, but it made sense now. It was no wonder he dumped her. 

 

It was very clear now. Those two men, Ryu Sejin and the CEO’s nephew Min Seungju, fooled her in their twisted game. They were cousins, which meant they must’ve planned everything. Sejin approached her first, and then Min Seungju pretended to be interested in her. Seungju kissed her in front of Sejin on purpose, and this gave Sejin a good excuse to dump her. 

 

Everything made sense now. The reason why Seungju showed interest in someone like her… Why he looked so calm when she rejected him… Those two men obviously planned it all.

 

Bastards. Jerks. Was this the kind of game the rich men liked to play? Seducing an ordinary girl and toy with her until they got tired of her? Ha! Sunghee thought Sejin might have really liked her, but it was clear she was mistaken. She actually thought she might have hurt Sejin, but she had been wrong. Those two men weren’t interested in her at all. They didn’t care about her. She was just a plaything and nothing more. 

 

She needed to get out of here right now. Sunghee grabbed her purse and stood up. Thankfully, the place was hectic with the waiters delivering food and people taking photos. Looking up, Yura asked, 

 

“Sunghee, where are you going?”

“Home.”

 

She couldn’t think clearly. Not even noticing Yura staring at her in confusion, Sunghee began to walk toward the door. If she didn’t leave right now, she was going to scream. 

 

Actually, perhaps she didn’t even need to scream. Sunghee remembered telling some women that Sejin had an affair with her brother who was married with a kid. Maybe this rumor would spread like a wildfire. This meant… Since she was the source of this rumor, she would get fired. She would be lucky if she didn’t get sued for defamation of character.  

 

Sunghee felt like she might start laughing hilariously now. Covering her mouth with her hand, she continued to walk. The other guests who were standing around flinched and stepped aside when they saw her pale face, thinking she was about to throw up.

 

Sunghee was so distraught that she didn’t even notice Sejin staring at her from far away. 

 

When she left the hall, she looked around as she staggered dangerously. In the end, she leaned against a wall for support. She felt confused, dazed, and nauseous all at the same time. She didn’t know what to do or where to go. 

 

“Sunghee.”

 

When a deep baritone voice called her name, Sunghee looked up. The moment she saw Sejin, she turned away. If she watched his face for too long, she knew she would end up screaming like a lunatic.

Sejin said to her quietly,

 

“I… wanted to apologize to you about what happened before.”

 

Sunghee kept her head down. She could see his perfectly shined black shoes. His pants were also neatly ironed. She didn’t want to see anymore of him. What more lies did he plan on telling her? What was he going to try to do to her now? That she should never tell a soul about their relationship? That she should remember their time with fondness? Or was he going to give her some money and ask her to quit? Perhaps this was what he planned to do. Or maybe it was Manager Min’s job to do his dirty work.

 

Sunghee wanted to leave this place immediately. She wanted to get inside her bed and not leave it for a year. No, maybe not her bed. All the things she did with this man in that bed… She needed to burn her bed as soon as possible!

 

“Sunghee? Are you listening to me? Are you okay? Could it be that you’re sick?”

 

His fake worried tone was the last straw. She couldn’t take it anymore. Sunghee smacked him with her purse and began shrieking,

 

“You bastard! How could you lie to me like that?!”

 

Her loud sharp voice rang inside the hotel. It was obvious everyone in the banquet hall heard her because she could hear all the hustle and bustle from that place quiet down suddenly. But she didn’t care. Glaring at Sejin, Sunghee panted. Sejin’s hair was styled even better now. Instead of his thick glasses, he was wearing contact lenses. His suit, which always looked so crumpled, was perfectly ironed. His tie was crooked only because she smacked him just now, and…

 

Sunghee could now see an obvious resemblance between Sejin and Min Seungju! It was no wonder they were cousins!

 

“Y…you jerk! Both you and Min Seungju should go get hit by a bus!”

 

After yelling, Sunghee turned around and headed toward the elevator. Sejin, who looked dazed for a second, quickly grabbed her arm. 

 

“What the hell are you talking about? When did I ever lie to you?”
